Ellin Tritt takes on the next chapter in the estate’s winemaking evolution
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Ellin Tritt has been officially appointed as our new Head Winemaker, following Clive Otto’s recent retirement.
It’s a moment that marks the next chapter in the estate’s winemaking story — but not a departure from what came before. The same conviction that has shaped Fraser Gallop Estate since Nigel Gallop planted the vineyard in 1999 carries forward: one vigneron, one vineyard, one vision.

A winemaker from the beginning
From the age of ten, Ellin aspired to become a winemaker. She was fascinated by the idea of blending science and art in a practical job. In 2010, she completed a double degree in winemaking, viticulture and agribusiness.
From Margaret River to the world, and back
Ellin began working in wine production from 2010 onwards and has completed vintages both locally and internationally — in Canada, Provence, Alsace and Napa Valley. After gaining this experience, Ellin knew that she wanted to immerse herself in the Margaret River wine industry, and joined the team at Fraser Gallop Estate in 2017.
Seven years alongside Clive Otto
Since joining the estate, Ellin has collaborated with Head Winemaker Clive Otto for seven years, actively participating in all aspects of the winemaking operations. That length of apprenticeship means today’s handover isn’t a reset — it’s a continuation, built vintage by vintage at this one site.
The essence of Wilyabrup was never going to belong to one winemaker alone. It belongs to the vineyard. Ellin’s role, as she sees it and as Clive saw his before her, is simply to let it speak clearly — vintage after vintage.
