Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
A beautiful dark red wine with crimson hues. Blackberry and char-grilled meats with smoky toasty oak aromas, quite similar to many Bordeaux Cabernets in profile. It is a medium-bodied wine with a succulent fleshy mid-palate with flavours of blackberry and red currants with hints of Nori seaweed and bay leaf and lapsang tea. Layers of flavours wash over the mouth but also words like elegance and finesse and complexity are evoked when tasting this wine. The tannins are soft and supple.
Reviews and Awards
"Includes small amounts of petit verdot, merlot, cabernet franc and malbec, matured in used French oak for 18 months. A fresh, lively medium-bodied Bordeaux blend, tannins and oak unimportant. Elegance and purity are its watchwords."

"Deepish red colour with a good tint of purple. The bouquet shows a lovely harmony of violets, blueberry, cedar and tobacco, the palate medium to full-bodied and savoury, well saturated with smoky, toasty oak-matured complexities. Great flavour and harmony, balance and length. This is uncannily Bordeaux-like, St-Émilion for my money. A classy wine…”

"Includes a little Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Blue and black fruit, cocoa powder, tobacco, some mint and violet in the mix. Medium-bodied, crisp acidity, almost a cranberry crunch to it, along with a tightly knit tannin, some toast and earthiness, attractive perfume on a long firm finish. Very stylish. Wait for it."

“This stylish blend of cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, merlot, cabernet franc and malbec has a charming bouquet of red and blue fruits, and violet. It’s medium-to-full bodied, with good concentration, fresh acidity and a firm but restrained tannin backbone.“
