2008 Cabernet Sauvignon - equal 1st with 95 points.
The review:
Shows how a painstaking approach to site selection and winemaking can bring rewards. This was my top wine, initially closed on the nose but with great depth of blackberry fruit. There’s rich flavour and the tannins are firm but wonderfully even. Excellent length, too. Caillard agreed adding “Beautiful cassis, praline and vanilla. Still elemental but plenty of precision” The wine’s destined for a long future but if you want to try it now, give it plenty of air.
